In 1970, William J. Collis, M.D. founded what is now Kentucky Eye Institute. Dr. Collis returned to his central Kentucky roots after completing a residency in neurology at Cleveland Clinic and the National Institute of Health, an ophthalmology residency at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and both neuro-ophthalmology and retinal fellowships.
